Sick in the House

So, my dad got sick early this week and went to the doctor. I then got sick and ended up staying home from school. Then, it happened. My mom got sick, really, really sick! My brother got sick! Really, really sick! So, they are at home. I am waiting to be picked up by someone for worship while my Dad goes out preaching!

It ought to be  a fun week!

Winter is Here

The holidays are upon us and we have a lot for which to be thankful. This past wee, we were able to journey to see family. Some of our extended family were present as well so we got to see a lot of people! It was. Ice to see everyone. Like everything else, it was also nice to return home! Let's tell you all about it with a few extra details thrown in!

We were originally going to leave Wednesday evening, stop somewhere along the way for Bible study, and get to the family's house late (or early!). However, KayKay developed a wound on her foot which required a change in plans. So, we left early Thursday morning and arrived at the destination by noon. The journey was safe but had a 45-minute detour about which we did not know. We arrived to a great-mother, a set of set of grandparents, and two sets of aunts and uncles which their families. We celebrated the holiday with a meal and spent the day together. Originally, Mom and Dad were going to sleep at the other set of grandparents but with Kay being wheelchair bound, they thought they would have to digress to an air mattress in the living room. Thankfully, my aunt and uncle opted to secure lodging if we would take care of their kids. Of course, I was more than happy to take care of my little cousins!

Our great-grandmother was there for the holidays and we opted to have a birthday party with the family who was also in the area. She will become an octogenarian in the days ahead. At one point, there were 28 people in the house! It was crowded. We stayed through the weekend and came back by way of the other set of grandparents and then on home.

It Has Been a Little Bit Crazy!

Okay. So, we have not been on here in a while. I have had stuff going on every weekend and when it came time to go eat breakfast with my dad, I usually bailed on him to get more sleep. I am not a bad person, just tired, really, really tired! Here is what has been going on.

Dad has been working around the house in order to allow Mom to have time to work on her paper. She has been making significant progress. He has been extremely OCD about the house. He is a great dad... Well, most of the time!

Mom has been busy. As it nears the holiday break for school, she has been consumed with work. We got to spend a lot of time together yesterday as we traveled to a nearby city to visit some friends.

Bubba tried out for the play and got a speaking part! He is excited. We are going to have fun with this. Play practice begins after the new year. I am going to the play every night (because she wants to socialize, not because she wants to see her brother act! -jn). That is not true. I really want to go embarrass him!

I have been more and more active with the youth group. I have had a lot of activities with school. Things have been crazy.

We are thankful for our lives. We look forward to the holiday and being with family.

Loving Our Simple Life

Okay. So these last few weeks have been busy but fun. So here is a little recap for what has happened.

So as you all know dad finished his big paper. But mom has not, so while mom spends some time each night on her paper dad has been keeping the house clean and all that jazz.

So mom has been very busy. She has been working on her paper. She went to a conference this weekend in Nashville. So dad was left alone with the house and kids. #scaryright

So as some of you may know, I have been doing a babysitting job. That has been a lot of fun. So, pass it on if you need a babysitter, I'm here for you. I also sprained my knee.

JT is still doing tae kwon do. But, he sprained his ankle. Man, it has been hard for the N kids.

Glad to be Back Together

It has been a busy, exciting two weeks for The Family of N. We were out of blog world last week due to Dad being out of town (more on that in a bit). Before that, we will go back two weeks and catch the blog world up on the happenings in the family.

Two weeks ago, Dad and I went to babysit a three-year-old boy and twin 11-month old girls (they have since crossed one year). It was a lot of fun and we called my aunt who is pregnant with twins to let her know they have their work cut out for them! It was enjoyable and I hope to get to do it again soon. The rest of the week was busy as Mom had to go to another city twice in one week. Bubba had been busy with the youth group and I (Kaylee) have been to GAP (Girls Applying Prayer) several times. Things are busy but they are fun.

At the end of the first week, Dad and Bubba prepared and left town for Dad's speaking engagement. Dad will now talk of his trip out of town.

We left the morning of last Saturday and stopped to eat at IHOP. We then got on the plane and headed to another city. We had a layover and the counts were not right on the second plane which caused a 30-minute delay in take off. We still landed only four minutes late! We ate at a chicken place our host knew about and visited a memorial before going to the home of our host. The next day, we worshipped and relaxed in the afternoon. Then, JT and I spent the week attending the lectureship and had a very enjoyable time. My father and brother-in-law spoke and we got to spend time with several old friends. We flew out Friday and landed in a nearby city and waited for our shuttle to our vehicle for 30 minutes before we realized we had to call them to come get us. We called and then stopped by our favorite restaurant before we reunited with the family. We had a great week but are glad to be back with the family.

We will keep you posted.

HEY!

Hey everybody! We have had a great week at the family of N! In our usual style, we will go through the family members, one by one. In the words we borrow from One Direction - this is The Story of my Life!

So, my dad had a good week. He went in on Monday and defended his BIG paper. He got everyone to approve his work. He has a few more hoops to jump through but is officially, Dr. Dad. (Though, he does not like it when Bubba and I call him that!) I am going to do it anyway!

Mom, on the other hand, has not finished her paper but is getting close. I understand why because she has a lot on her plate. As soon as things slow down, she will be on it. She is half way done with going to another city to teach this semester. She keeps the house in order. Things are good. She, as is her style, finds joy in everyone else's good news.

JT got his permit this week. (#Scary!) Mom and I are very scared but Dad is dealing with it very well. He drove with Mom and Dad a little bit this past week. Sooner later, he will be driving me places, like the mall! JT and I both went to a retreat this weekend. It was a lot of fun. I got to see him some. (#Saddness) I had one class with him. He did not talk as much as he usually does in class. That is not a bad thing. But it is also not a bad thing that he talks a lot.

I have had a pretty good week. The rain makes it hard for me to be as mobile as I like but it has been okay. I had a great time at the retreat and got to hang out with boys. (#goodforme, #badfordad) Don't worry Dad, I hung out with girls some of the time, but not lot. I got to see some friends from distant places. It was a good weekend!

See you next week, blog world.

Awesome Week!

So, we have never been to a particular nearby state and we opted to go over the recent holiday weekend. We had a blast. It was crowded because we took one of JT's friends with us but we had a blast!

We got to louge around the house yesterday and had a good time. We spent most of the day playing video games and relaxing. It was a good day. We went out to eat and Kaylee saw one of her friends so she are with her. She said it was fun!

Life is starting to get into a routine for the family of N. Shawna and her school year is in full force. The kids finished up half the term for the first quarter. They are doing well and are working hard. Jeremy is working hard at work and on his paper. His is coming along well and Shawna's is too.

We are blessed, richly blessed!

A Big To-do about . . . Life

We try to count our blessings and constantly lose track because God is good ... eh, GREAT to us!

Father has crossed another birthday since the last post. I'll just say he is still in his 30s, technically. He is still young at heart, really young and immature at heart. He is working, preaching, studenting, and dading. He is busy but doing well!

Mom is busy! She had gone to a nearby city to teach two of what will be eight times. She is working hard and doing well. She is busy but still the most wonderful mother in the world.

Bubba will also cross an anniversary of life this week. He will be getting his permit to drive. You all might want to clear the roads! He has been engaged in speaking engagements and studying.

I have been getting more active with the youth group and have been loving it! We did a service project this past week to send food to Haiti. We had a devotional and. Group of us girls got together to pray. It has been a good week.

For our holiday, we are going to cross a couple of things off of our bucket list. We are going to Louisana for the first time and, while we are there, we are going to the Hard Rock Cafe in New Orleans. But, more to come on that next week!!

It's Been Busy; It Will Be Busy; And, We Love It!

School started this past week for the kids. It is hard to believe JT is in the tenth grade. Kaylee entered the eighth grade. Shawna will start back to work the week after next but things are coming in full swing for the university! A good friend of our's who has been on the mission field for the past several years is returning to serve as the missionary-in-residence for the school year. Their oldest daughter is starting at the university this year and has been in town for about a month. She has been at camps and with friends but has stayed a couple of nights at the house this past week.

Some other friends are bringing the oldest child to start at the university and will be staying at our house this week for some time. It's good to see old friends but hard to believe our friends have kids starting college! Time marches on.

It is time to make an announcement: a dear family member of our's is having twins!!! They are excited. We are excited. We ask that you pray for them. She is awesome aunt to the kids and has a great family. We are excited to see the family grow!

JT is getting quite the social life. He has made youth group trips to Nashville the past three weekends. He loves it. We are proud of him.

Kaylee was involved in a mother- daughter day, yesterday. She helped with registration. She had a great time and continues to grow, physically and spiritually.

Mom has a busy schedule this fall which will require her to travel to another city for one night a week for eight weeks. She loves her job and continues to work on her paper. She keeps the house in order. She is awesome!!

Dad is working and loving his job! He continues to counsel teenage boys and is loves it. He is active with speaking engagements and work with the church.

Don't forget to pray!

Where has the summer gone?

It doesn't seem reall but in less than two weeks Kaylee will officially start eighth grade and JT will be in the tenth grade. they have a trip out to another state. Will come back and start school.

Dad is excited because life is a blessing.bHe finished his course, will be taking tests for professional licensure. He is still working on his paper and loving his job! He feels blessed.

Shawna is preparing for the school year. She has made some plans for some changes (more on that, later), and is doing really well. The most exciting news for her is that Dad got his vehicle back out of the shop and she is not having to chofuer as many people around.

JT just got back from a week of camp and says he had a great time. He made a youth group trip to another city the same day, has spent a day relaxing, and is scheduled to preach in another state today. He is preparing for school and doing well.

Kaylee is blessed. She says she is ready to start school but, before she does, she is ready to go and spend some time with her cousins! She found out yesterday she needs glasses and is not real happy about it. She will be okay.

Take time to count your blessings today!

Pretty Much, The Best Week of my Life!

So, this past week I wen to a leadership camp on the campus of a nearby university. I, pretty much, had the best week of my life! It all started last Saturday when I moved in. We had so much fun! Sunday, I met up with my friends and we stayed up all night every night being really goofy! We worshipped, studied, sang, had more fun, ate lots of pizza, stayed up late, goofed off, worshipped more, watched people get baptized, watched a hypnotist, worshipped under the stars, watched fireworks, got hugs from very cute boys and some not-so-cute boys (but, it's all good, they were boys), were entertained, studied, and had a great week! I met 14,000 new friends. Well, maybe not that many, but a lot of new friends. I got to see old friends and had an awesome week!

I am already looking forward to next year! After I get some sleep!

It's Going to be an Exciting Week!

Here we are to do our weekly blog update. Today is an exciting day because it begins Horizons! Future Church Leaders Workshop. It is a camp they J, JT, and K attend each year. We are looking forward to it and S isooking forward to a week at the house by herself! As we get started, here is how our week has gone.

Dad has been frantic (and I mean FRANTIC!) this week. He has been revising his paper, working on a class, developing some lectures for a family seminar, working at work, and getting ready for Horizons. Whew! Does that make you go crazy? The funny thing is the paper that he has been revising he thought was to be turned in tomorrow. As it turns out, he has another week!

Mom has been nesting like a little momma bear. She has been working on a paper, getting ready for the upcoming school year, and preparing for her kids to go to Horizons. She has stocked up on food and preparing for company who will stay the week. She is a wonderful lady and the rest of us love her so much.

JT has enjoyed the last ten days or so at the house and with friends. He has been maxing and relaxing. He is ready for Horizons. He has one week before going to another week of camp. He will spend some time at with some family and then the summer is up!

Kaylee has been enjoying the summer in spite of the fact that she had two medical procedures which required anesthesia. She had been recovering well and is ready for the week. Can you tell we are excited about Horizons?!

It is going to be an awesome week!

Blessed, We Are

Jeremy knew he was going to have a busy summer and busy it has been! It has been good. One can never fully prepare for the unexpected and we had some unexpected things happen this week. But, through all of it, the family of N is blessed. Truly blessed. God is good!

Jeremy has been putting a lot of time I to work, speaking engagements, his paper, a course, family, and everything else going on. His gaol this summer is to make it to the fall! He is doing well. You might want to visit his cold water challenge on Facebook!

Shawna just completed some professional development this week and has been working hard to kick off the new school year in style! She has entertained company who has recently visited following Kaylee's procedure (more on that in a bit), and worked hard to manage the house! She continues to be awesome!

JT just got back into town. We all really missed him. Even me (Kaylee). He even missed me. He has really been busy this summer and will continue to be busy.

Kaylee has not been as busy has her brother but still has been busy. We were all hoping this summer would not be full of doctor appointments. But it kind of has. But that's Okay we will handle it. Because we know god always there. But Kaylee doesn't have just doctor appointments this summer she has some other plan in mind too.

It's Been a Long Time!

A lot has been going on in the family of N. So, in he words of Kk, "Let's get started."

Jeremy has been busy. He is excited to have completed his first complete draft of his big paper yesterday. He went to another state and taught a class at a Bible school. He took a graduate level class for licensure purposes. He has been busy with work. He said his goal this summer is to make it to the fall.

Shawna took the family to another state to celebrate a special person's birthday. She ended up having to bring KK back for a procedure. She has been busy with work and the house and whatever else is required of a Mom!

JT is not here! He went to camp for a week, came back for a week and a half and has been traveling with Grandfather the last two days and will gone the next ten. After that, two more camps and then school! Wow! He is going to be busy this summer.

KK went with the family to another state and went shopping! She then had some trouble with her port and ended up in the emergency room. She was out under anesthesia for a procedure the next day. She will have another procedure later this month but is doing well and will be fine. She is 13 years old and into boys, Frozen, and girly stuff.

We are blessed!

It's Almost Time!

This end of the school year is upon us and we all have final exams - except Dad. Mom has to administer them and JT and Kaylee have to take them. I am not sure I am ready but I will be, mostly because I have to be! In normal style, we will tell what has been going on in each of our lives. Here we go!

Dad has been frantically working on his paper. He has been busy with work, school, family, and the church. He has plans to go to another state this coming week. He hopes to get some more competed on the paper. He and I have been ordering pictures for the walls in the house. We got them yesterday and he has been changing them out on the walls. Along that line, we made some family pictures last Sunday and plan to post some of them on here at some point!

Mom has been stressed! Not just a little bit, but a lot! I mean A LOT!! This is fairly normal for her this time of year with school just about out and the summer upon us. She, too, has been working on her paper. She has made some progress this week. She continues to run the house and loves being busy. Today is her day and we need to do a shout out to her!

Mom is Mom and Mom is awesome! I could not ask for a better Mom. I love you, Mom! You are the best!

JT plans to test for his next level in Tai Kwon Do this week. We are confident he will do well. His big news was that he and Dad got to go see Si and Jeb Robertson (the Duck Dynasty guys) and he said he had a pretty good time. He continues to be active with the youth group and seems to be way too mature for his age! We love him. This past Friday, we had a family movie night. JT and I got to watch "The Princess Bride" for the first time. He loved it. I thought it was romantic.

This week has been special for me. I received a letter invitation to an awards ceremony this coming week and I will definitely be going to that! The letter indicates I will be receiving an award. I also have a band concert coming up this week. I am ready for school to be out as I have a great summer planned.

Please keep reading The Family of N!

Truly Blessed

It has been a busy but blessed week here in the family of N.

Jeremy had to leave town one day for training in another part of the state. Shawna is finishing up classes. She has one more week if classes and then final exams. Kaylee has been working on a project to put new pictures up in the house. It is coming along nicely. JT has been fine because he is a freshman in high school, at least for about two more weeks!

Jeremy is definitely enjoying his job and has been working with a great group of people. It really seems to be a good fit. He has also been working on his paper which he got back a revision from his mentor with some very favorable comments. He was really encouraged about it and hopes to turn in another revision tonight. He has also been active in beginning a recovery group at the congregation which has been a good start.

Shawna has also been busy with a paper and has high hopes of making some significant progress in the next few weeks. She is enjoying her work, her home, and things are moving along well. She stays busy but seems to love it. She spent some time with JT yesterday evening which she really enjoyed.

JT is still active in two youth groups and looking forward to a very, very busy summer. He plans to go to three camps, take a trip with Grampy, and then spending a little time with his aunt and uncle. Dad told him to enjoy it while he could because he will be getting a job soon and will not have the time to do these things. He is really growing spiritually which is a blessing for us.

Kaylee finished up some standardized testing this past week which she is really excited about. She is ready to finish up the seventh grade and then go on to her last year of junior high school. Sh is growing up and helped in the conversion of another young lady at the congregation this past week. This led to a third person being baptized which was awesome.

We are truly blessed. Be sure to count your blessings this week.

Two Teenagers in the House

This past Sunday, little K turned 13 years old! She had a birthday party with her youth group friends and had a great time with pizza and ice cream.

Father has spent a lot of time in reflection of the milestone and continues to be happy with the family.

We are richly blessed.

CRAZY. WEEK!

The craziness all started last Friday when the family chose to leave town to to another state to see family. We arrived at the grandparent's house shortly before midnight and immediately began to get ready for bed. Dad was using the restroom when he got a most unusual request from Mom. She asked him if he would got to the chicken coop to kill an opossum for grandmother. After shooting and hitting it three of five times, the opossum still was not dead. Grandmother put it on a burn fire and and it squirmed. They put it in a barrell and, as per word of uncle, it had to be shot again the next morning. This only began the craziness!

The next day, Dad left town to go see his dad and the family goofed off. I got to watch my baby cousin and the women went shopping. Dad came back and most of the family are dinner together. We played cards most of the day and part of the evening. Then, we got ready for bed.

Dad preached and taught class the next day. Bubba preached in the afternoon. He did a real good job. Bubba went driving with Papaw two times on the farm. He had a good time. Dad and Bubba took off for home while Mom and I stayed. The family went out for pizza. Dad and Bubba went to Lambert's and got a roll or two thrown at them. My little cousin stayed with me and we played slap jack and had a good time. The next day, Dad went to work, Bubba stayed home, and Mom and I and others went shopping. Yes, Mom went shopping two days in a row! The family went out for Chinese food.

Tuesday, we I got to play with my little cousin all day. I am a little tired of playing with him but we had a good time. Mom and I met Dad so we could come home. Bubba stayed at a friend's house. The next day, Mom took off for a conference in another city and Bubba was still at his friend's house until late in the evening. Dad and I got to spend some time together and went to Bible class that evening.

Thursday, Bubba and I did chores around the house while Dad worked. We ate dinner and then played Skip-Bo and I won. Yea, me! We enjoyed the time together. I was ready for Mom to come home because I was the inky girl.

Friday, Bubba and I did more chores and we got to go with the youth group to an origins seminar in another city. We had a good time and Mom came home that evening. I was so happy. Bubba was happy. Dad was happy. We were a happy family.

Saturday, Dad went to work and got ready to teach on Sunday. Mom and Bubba went shopping (yes, again!). I had the house to myself and I loved it. JT and I want back to the seminar with the youth group. JT liked it so much that he and his friend asked Mom to take them back today and so they are worshipping there and Dad and I are here.

We are ready for spring break to be over so we can be together again!

It's been a crazy week

A lot has been going on this week.

I(Kaylee) has not been doing good this week. I have been really sick. My tummy has been bugging me. We still haven't figured out why this is happening. My mom thinks it is just the antibiotic I have been on. But I don't think it is just that. Beside me being sick not a lot has been going on. I have also this week learned how to make my own Mac and cheese. Which is good since that is my favorite food.

JT has been doing good. He is still preaching a lot. He is still doing tae kwon do. JT and me both are still very active with the youth group. Though we haven't got to be active very much lately. He still has not gotten used the fact that I'm in the youth group. But trust me he will. I will make him.

Jeremy and Shawna both are still working on their big paper. They both are enjoy there jobs. They are very busy.  But not to busy to love their kids.

I hate the time change

Man it has been a week. It has been good. But it has been crazy.

I (Kaylee) have not had a very good week. I could not wait till weekend. I have sick some this week. I've been being sick off and on for a few months. We still do know what wrong with me. That's really frustrating me. I have went to several doctors. But it has still not stop. But the weekend was great. I had my all time best friend over. We hung out at my house.then we went to the movies. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Then we came back home at close to 1:00 am. Then we watched a movie. We went staight to bed. Wow we're we tired the next moring.

Dad has a new job now. Which is good for us. He loves it. Dad is still working on his paper he is writing.he has got back to be with the family.

Mom is still working at her job. She says she loves it. But she come home and complains. Mom really does love her job though. Mom is also still working on her paper. She has been very busy.

Buba is working really hard. So hard he is getting recruited to colleges. He is still doing Tae Kwon do.He has been preaching too. He is preaching tonite at church as long with other guys in the youth group.

Showers of Blessings

We continue to be amazed at how awesome our God is. He abundantly blesses us more than we need or deserve. This past week, we tried to count our blessings and kept losing count! God is good all the time.

For starters, Dad finished up one job and begins a new job tomorrow. He and the family are excited about it and it is sure to be a blessing. He will continue to counsel but with a new organization. He is looking forward to it. He continues to counsel outside the organization, work on his paper, and spend time with me! I don't know how he does it but he is the best dad ever!

Mom is glad to have her car back! Since Dad had a job which required a lot of traveling, he started using Mom's more economical car but he will be using a company car with the new job so he took his car back. He did make it up to get Mom's car serviced this week so he returned her car in good condition. Mom works her job, works on her paper, keep the laundry done (I don't understand how as it seems there is so much!), and still spends time with me. She is the best Mom ever!

Bubba enjoyed his weekend in another place at a youth conference this past weekend. He returned with zeal and dedication. He continues to work with two youth groups, do tae kwon do (he will test for the brown belt later this term), and do really well in school. He was down to preach this weekend in another place but, on account of the impending weather, we did not go and he and Dad had to cancel. JT is still the best brother I have ever had!

As for me, I got to go see a movie with a friend yesterday. It was the first time I had a friend come to pick me up and I did not have to rely on my parents for transportation. It was also my first time riding in a bug. It was awesome. The movie I saw was Frozen and it was awesome. I had a good week at school as Dad picked me up from school two days and Mom picked me up the other three. No bus! Yea! Bubba and I did get to see an old youth leader of our's this week as he came to town to visit us.

We pray for our readers and ask your prayers in return.

Blessings,

It's a Wonderful Life

It has been an interesting and wonderful week! Mom has been busy with work and had part in a job fair this past week. She said she had a good time. I don't really understand that but it is true. She still keeps the house in order and is working on her paper. She says it is coming along.

Dad is down to just a few days left at his present job so he is getting some loose ends tied up to make the transition this coming weekend. He starts the new job this coming Monday and has been preparing for it this past week. He has been working on a paper, transitioning to a new job, scheduling speakers for the summer series with the church, preparing and teaching a class with the university, preparing for marriage seminar he will be a part of this coming summer, preparing to teach a class with the congregation starting in March, working in the planning stages of new programs with the congregation, counseling in addition to the job,  trying to spend time with the family, and reading up on some literature. Whew! He has been busy from dawn to dusk and even in the night. He can't see when he is coming and going!

JT has had a good week and attending a youth conference across the state over the weekend. We found out via social media that he presented an evening devotional amid about 80 people. He is speaking next week at a congregation out of state. He stays busy with youth group activities, school, and Tae Kwon Do.

As for me, I have been enjoying the weekend spending time with my mother! I am looking forward to seeing family out of state this coming weekend. We are blessed. Truly blessed!

It's been a long time

It's need a busy week this week.

JT and I (Kaylee) had a youth event Tuesday. We served the senior citizens for Valentine's Day. That was a lot of fun. The youth group does this annually but this was my first time getting to participate. We had a good time.

On Wednesday, Mamaw came to stay with us for a few days. This was good for me as I got to have mac and cheese every night she was here! She left early yesterday morning. We had a good visit. While she was here, Mom, Mamaw, and I went to get some ice cream for a girls' trip. We had a good time.

On Thursday, Dad got some good news. He was offered a new job and gave his notice at his current job. He is so excited about it and ready to make the transition. He will be starting after the the first if the month.

It has been busy but good. Mom and Dad are coming along on their papers and are excited about it. We are blessed!

What's happened in the family of N

This week in the family of N we have not had a lot going on. But It was still fun.little Miss to a nearby city to have several test run. Fortunately, everything turned out good and she got good reports. We are thankful.

The week before last, we had some very exciting news. Little Miss was baptized into Christ and became a Christian. We are thankful for her decision. Praying she has a long life faithful service to God. Praise God!

Mom will be returning to work this week. We are ready to get the family back in to routine. The kids returned to school last week. However, with school days and sick days, the family really hasn't been in a routine. We are ready to get there!

Big brother has spent the weekend in another city. He attended a youth rally and will be back this afternoon. He has said he is having a good time. The best part of that is you tricked his little sister. Call us if you want some details on that. Little Miss says she will be getting revenge.

Dad's been working a lot. He's got some very exciting news too. The exciting news is that he got to baptize his little girl. He says I'm growing up so fast. And it's true too.
