Youth Rally 2009

The last two days, J.T. and I, as well as five of the teenagers from the congregation went to a youth rally. Here is a picture of the group (except me; I am taking the picture).
There were several responses. Here is one of the preachers announcing such.
Here is a picture of the guest song leader they have every year.
For whatever reason, I cannot make these trips without doing a Wal-mart run. This time was no exception. I had to go for certain reaons. I got this hat. What do you think?
If you did not like that one, what about this one?

Good youth rally. Good times. Good memories. It is great to be a part of the family of N.

Update...Light at the End of the Tunnel

Kaylee had a doctor's appointment earlier this week. She was approved by the doctor to be in her braces again. However, her braces needed some modification. We saw Jack (the braces maker and modifier) the same day. He kept the brace for repair and modification.

Today, Kaylee had therapy. She has continued to have therapy even while in her wheelchair over the last month or so. She has been working on upper body strength. We got the brace repaired and modified. It fit pretty well. There will continue to be some adjustments. It is just the nature of the beast.

All in all, we are finally approved to use the braces. We have the braces. So, tomorrow we will begin learning to use the braces and walking again. It will be a slow process but at least it has begun.

Yep, They're My Kids

Reports cards came home and all will be happy to know that both J.T. and Kaylee are following in thier Dad's steps and getting great grades. Grampy, you remember what fifth and sixth grade was like for me, don't you? Great grades, right?! Well, maybe J.T. and Kaylee are following in thier Mom's footsteps. They got all As and Bs.

Yep, they're my kids...

Camping Trip #2 2009

This past weekend, we (Jeremy and J.T.) went on a camping trip. We departed early Thursday morning. We met Grampy in Mammath Spring for lunch and all three of us went to the campground and set up camp. We cooked foil dinners Thursday evening. Then, we sat around the campfire until about 11:00 and then went to bed.

Friday morning started with a cooked breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, sausage gravy, and bisquits. It was great. Then, we headed off to the hardware store and got some supplies to make hot dog and marshmallow roasters. We made them, cooked hot dogs for lunch, palyed some cards, and then went exploring. We came back to the campsite to cook pork chops, baked potatoes, and corn for dinner.

At this point, an interesting story needs to be told. Grampy cooked the ends of the roasters to remove any bacteria and to cure them. He pulled one out of the coals and told J.T. not to touch a certain part of it (the part that had been in the fire) and then proceded to touch it himself! This was followed by a loud "OUCH." J.T. and Jeremy just stared at Grampy with one of them well-if-you-had-followed-your-own-advice-you-would-not-look-so-stupid-right-now kind of looks. He simply said, "See, that's what you don't want to do."

We then cleaned dinner and sat around the campfire till shortly after 11:00. We woke up the next morning, broke camp, ate breakfast at a nearby restaurant, and parted ways. We had a great time.

We would have pictures but like men do, we left the camera at the house. Sorry Aunt Chelle. I know you are dissapointed.

It was a good time with good memories (they would have lasted longer with a camera).
